- Rinse or prepare the makhana and drain it well.
- Heat the ghee in a heavy saucepan and cook the makhana for 2 minutes.
- Add the milk and bring it to a gentle boil, stirring so it does not catch at the bottom.
- Cook on low heat for 20 minutes until the makhana becomes soft and the milk thickens slightly.
- Add the sweetener and cook for 5 more minutes. Keep stirring after the sweetener is added.
- Add cardamom, saffron, and nuts. Switch off the heat.
