- Prepare 5 cups makhana, roasted and ground and keep all ingredients measured.
- Heat the ghee in a heavy pan. Add ground makhana and roast on low heat.
- Roast until the makhana powder smells nutty and looks slightly golden.
- Add the nuts and cook for 1 minute, then switch off the heat.
- Cool until warm. Add the sweetener and cardamom and mix thoroughly.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and press each portion into a smooth ladoo.
- Cool completely before storing or serving..
