  2. Heat half the ghee in a heavy pan and add moong dal paste
  3. Roast the paste slowly, stirring continuously, until it becomes crumbly, golden, and aromatic
  4. Add hot milk carefully in small portions. Stir continuously because the mixture may splutter
  5. Cook until the mixture becomes soft and most of the liquid is absorbed
  6. Add the sweetener, remaining ghee, and cardamom. Cook until the halwa leaves the sides of the pan
  7. Add the nuts, rest for 5 minutes, and serve warm in four bowls.
